And when you see the picture i have used here, It definitely makes your brain filter a lot of thoughts. Everyone who will see this picture will try to connect with what the picture is all about. It just magically brings in thoughts and speaks for itself without realy, any syllable communication. The beauty of a picture, speaks for itself.
When i was a kid, infact most of us all we did is look through the pictures we had in our books. Infact,i assure most of us knew how an Apple looked before we knew how to spell it.
For centuries along, pictures were used as evidences for most of the things. Pictures were a proof, a way to show what someone saw, experienced. Long back when there were no emails and Telegraph was way too expensive and people went along for vacations all they used to send was a Picture postcard of the place they were at and the family used to get it all. The message was thoroughly conveyed.
"Pictures speak a thousand words"
Also, may be the most interesting part of pictures is..It may seem different to different people.
The beauty of Human brain,i must say! There was a survey done,The above picture was shown to around 1000 people(different races, culture,Status) and also they were segregated accordingly.
Yeah, there were many common answers but some answers were so different that the researchers concluded A picture may well say a thousand words, but those thousand words will always mean different things to different people.
Communication,Exchange of ideas is done most efficiently through pictures. As the researches concluded,it may mean a lot of different things to each and hence a lot of communication.A lot of exchange of ideas. On an informal note,When you miss your friend and suddenly you come across one of his/her pictures ,the emotion is amplified. The picture brings about all possible emotions and memories connected with that one picture. Also, if am blogging about how severely Tsunami had affected India back in 2006, Ofcourse, how i use my words would matter but adding a picture would bring along a difference on a massive scale.
This Blog itself would be not as much impactful as it is now with the inclusion of the pictures. For me, photographs take their power from memory and emotion. A picture tells its own story, shaped by the mood or insights of the person you are at the time you see it.
